OM3AU Memorial and Microwave Contest

Once again this year, we couldn’t miss the Ondrej Oravec OM3AU Memorial, which significantly contributed to the development of VHF in Slovakia as well as in the former Czechoslovakia. The contest is organized by the Slovak Amateur Radio Association on the 144 and 432 MHz bands. For the first time this year, we also participated in the Microwave Contest on the 1 296 MHz band.

Presentation at TATRY 2019, radio amateurs’ meeting

This year, the Slovak Amateur Radio Association once again organised the largest meeting of radio amateurs in Slovakia, which is traditionally held in Poprad. Not only radio amateurs from Slovakia but also from Poland, The Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia take part in it.

Our first connections via Qatar satellite QO-100

We can finally be heard! As a first collective station in Slovakia, on 12 June 2019 at 16:15 local time and after several hours of preparations and measuring, we established our first connection via the Qatar satellite QO-100.

Visit at OM0MS

Our plans to be active on QO-100 led us today, 13 June, to the village of Topoľovka near Humenné, the home of our friend, Štefan OM0MS.
