The 2nd Subregional Contest 2023

Man proposes, God disposes. This year’s 2nd Subregional Contest turned out completely differently than we planned. Every year I prepare a schedule of VHF contests that we will go under the radio club callsign OM3KSI, and which contests we will go to on own callsigns. This year, the 2nd Subregional Contest was also planned under the radio club callsign. Due to the various family or work commitments of our members, there were only two of us, Jaro OM0JKE and I, Peter OM8WG, who could spend the weekend at our contest field KN08QQ. However, we agreed to go under our brands.

IARU Region-1 VHF Contest 2020

We went this year’s IARU VHF Contest in a fairly modified line-up as well as with a different equipment. Last year, we competed from a hill above Kavečany, a neighbourhood of Košice, whereas this year, we chose our new spot above the village of Košická Polianka.

OM3AU Memorial and Microwave Contest

Once again this year, we couldn’t miss the Ondrej Oravec OM3AU Memorial, which significantly contributed to the development of VHF in Slovakia as well as in the former Czechoslovakia. The contest is organized by the Slovak Amateur Radio Association on the 144 and 432 MHz bands. For the first time this year, we also participated in the Microwave Contest on the 1 296 MHz band.

2nd Subregional Contest 2020

Due to the restrictions for multi opeartors stations and the greater grouping of people, we participated in this contest under our personal call signs. Dusan, OM3WAK, competed from home and I, OM8WG, set out to test a new spot, which, if proved successful, we would use for contests under the club call sign OM3KSI.

Marconi Memorial Contest 144 MHz 2019

The Marconi memorial contest is held annually in honour of the pioneer in wireless telegraphy, G. M. Marconi. The race takes place on the 144 MHz band, exclusively by CW operation (telegraphy).
