GRBAlpha mission – basic facts

GRBAlpha is the international technological mission which follows the successful mission of the first Slovak satellite skCUBE. The name of the satellite is the abbreviation of the words Gamma Ray Bursts and the Alpha indicates that is the first test mission of a gamma ray burst detector, which was built at the Hungarian Konkoly Observatory.

IARU Region-1 VHF Contest 2020

We went this year’s IARU VHF Contest in a fairly modified line-up as well as with a different equipment. Last year, we competed from a hill above Kavečany, a neighbourhood of Košice, whereas this year, we chose our new spot above the village of Košická Polianka.

2nd Subregional Contest 2020

Due to the restrictions for multi opeartors stations and the greater grouping of people, we participated in this contest under our personal call signs. Dusan, OM3WAK, competed from home and I, OM8WG, set out to test a new spot, which, if proved successful, we would use for contests under the club call sign OM3KSI.

Search for SP-VONT radiosonde

Last Sunday took to stratospheric heights. An SP-VONT stratospheric radiosonde took off from Malé Bielice Airport near Partizánske. Its launch was organised by the Slovak Organization for Space Activities and the agency placed a number of experiments on board. Presentation at TATRY 2019, radio amateurs’ meeting

This year, the Slovak Amateur Radio Association once again organised the largest meeting of radio amateurs in Slovakia, which is traditionally held in Poprad. Not only radio amateurs from Slovakia but also from Poland, The Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia take part in it.
